On Wednesday 22nd October GLASTONBURY POSITIVE LIVING GROUP will welcome SERENA RONEY-DOUGAL who will be giving a talk entitled "YOGIC AND TIBETAN MEDITATON AND ITS LINK WITH PSYCHIC AWARENESS".

During the past 6 years, research in India, first at a Yogic Ashram university, and then in Tibetan monasteries, has been exploring the Yogic and Buddhist teaching that advancement in meditation leads to expanded awareness and enhanced psychic ability. Through this research we have been gaining a greater understanding of consciousness, and its relationship with the energy body, the chakras and prana. The primary emphasis of both Buddhist and Yogic practices are on spiritual development, becoming a more peaceful, compassionate and joyful human being. During the evening we will discuss the findings, both in terms of psychic awareness and of personal self-development.

Serena Roney-Dougal did a PhD thesis in Parapsychology at Surrey University, and is the author of "Where Science and Magic Meet" and "The Faery Faith." She has spent over 35 years studying and experiencing scientific, magical and spiritual aspects of the psyche, and has lectured and taught courses, seminars and workshops in America, Europe and India. Colour dominates our senses. We learn at an early age to interpret our environment as much as by colour as by shapes or sound. We make statements about our mood with the colours we wear, and we can read how our friends feel too, through their colour statement. The colours we see around us can noticeably affect our state of mind and our feelings.

Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used coloured minerals, stones, crystals, salves, and dyes as remedies, and painted treatment sanctuaries in various shades of colour.

In ancient Greece colour was intrinsic to healing, which involved restoring the balance. Coloured garments, oils, plasters, ointments and salves were used to treat disease.

Investigations into the therapeutic use of colour were carried out in Europe during the early 20th century, notably by Rudolph Steiner, who related colour to form, shape, and sound. He suggested that the vibrational quality of certain colours is amplified by some forms, and that certain combinations of colour and shape have either destructive or regenerative effects on living organisms. In the schools inspired by Steiner’s work, classrooms are painted and textured to correspond to the mood of children at various stages of their development.

From as far back as the days of the legendary lost city of Atlantis, through the ancient Mayan and Hebrew civilizations, and including Far Eastern and Native American cultures, crystals and gemstones have been used both in spiritual rituals and as aids to physical healing.

Today the practice of using stones and crystals continues. Not only with the aboriginal shamans of Australia who use stones to commune with spirits, but with ordinary people across the world who claim extraordinary results.

How do crystals work? No one seems to know for sure. Tales tell that they were first used in Atlantis. Crystals became important to the people of that civilization who believed in their capacity to store and amplify any power source fed into them - physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. Practitioners of modern-day crystal therapy believe that the stones' ability to work as conductors allow them to focus energy via a person's thoughts to stimulate healing - both physical and non-physical.

Past Life Regression Certificate Course

Our Past Life Regression Certificate Training Course runs over 7 consecutive days and is presented by Kerin Webb MA. Kerin has been conducting past life regressions since the 1990s... and delivered trainings in this subject on a variety of courses and workshops. During this programme you will be led in an incremental way to explore the state of hypnosis, while discovering how to help people improve their confidence and self-esteem as you learn to develop your skills in order to utilise regression principles for therapeutic purposes.

Utilising shamanic trance principles, we will also explore the methods that Kerin believes he uses to communicate with spirit guides to receive information about future world events and related phenomena (including precognition about the British Royal Family, world leaders, natural disasters and some other amazing spiritual encounters, many of which have been corroborated by other witnesses) along with relevant research from modern science. We'll consider insights gained from the study of near death experiences and mediumship techniques as well, in order to develop a foundation upon which to proceed with your regression sessions.

Upon successful completion of the Past Life Regression Certificate Training Course you'll be eligible to use the designatory letters 'CReg'. No previous hypnosis training is required - but successful applicants will need to possess a mature attitude and sensible disposition.

Programme format

The programme follows approximately the following format:

Monday - Friday

The first five days consist of extensive training in trance induction techniques, therapeutic principles and hypnosis language skills. During this part of the course you will learn how to help clients improve their self-esteem, become more positive and develop ways to change unwanted behaviours, using traditional therapeutic hypnosis skills.

Saturday - Sunday

When you have developed your understanding of hypnosis and your competence in utilising trance states we will explore the phenomenon of past life regression. You will learn about some of the theories surrounding the subject, witness regressions taking place and have the opportunity to conduct and experience regressions yourself.

This course is recognised by the General Hypnotherapy Register.

We are aiming for as many different therapists, stallholders and readers as possible. We have hand picked our people as we want this fair to be really special.

Our stallholders will offer very different things to what you would normally expect, we also have pagan stalls as well, as you don't seem to find many of these.

Our readers will offer different ways of working with you.

We have got some of the more unusual therapies as well as the more traditional ones.

There will be talks and demonstrations throughout the day so that you can find out more about some of the things we have on offer.
