An Open Letter To Cancer For February 2026
Dear Cancer,
How are you keeping my friend? It has been a long time since I last wrote to you and I hope you are still managing to keep your head above water, so to speak. The month of February starts for the majority of the Cancer born with an increase of self-confidence and assertiveness. This will manifest itself mostly clearly in the way you interact when meeting people for the first time. This will assist you in many, as yet, unforeseen circumstances: from getting your dream job to finding the love of your life. Those readers happily settled in satisfying work and already ‘living the dream’ with their soul-mate might devote more of their free time to games that demand a great deal of mental skill such as chess, or, devote their free time to researching their family history. Nevertheless, those of a rather more mischievous disposition might be drawn into such out of the ordinary activities as amateur dramatics, street entertainers, jugglers and contortionists, or, you may take it onto yourself to start ‘acting the fool’ in order to blend in with some individual who you wouldn't normally associate with if it was left entirely up to you. It’s a means to an end, if you get my drift.
Conversely, those embarking upon new romantic relationships will, I suspect, go out of their way to spend more time with the children of your new partner and deliberately try to integrate themselves into the children’s social scene and share their activities and interests. However, your new partner may also expect you to drive many short journeys at the drop of a hat. This might, regrettably, become a point of contention unless they begin to take your feelings into consideration and ensure you get the rest you need. Changing direction only slightly: you become more deeply involved in communications by every means under the sun. Indeed, you might have no other option but to exchange information with somebody in authority, or with groups of people united by a single theme or shared interest. This might be to do with social, sporting or career ambitions. Your new schedule may, occasionally, become time consuming and tiring. However, the other side of the coin suggests that you may be very fortunate and meet someone very much in the public eye and in demand, so to speak. And this in some convoluted and intriguing way will enhance your reputation and image. To such a degree that you will recount the encounter over and over again to an appreciative audience. Furthermore, the current astral-influence seems favourable to anyone with aspirations to become an actor, writer, lecturer, scientist, playwright or any individual whose potential work or career trajectory requires dedicated creative acuteness.
Nevertheless, I must express a note of caution: if your natal horoscope is ‘out of sync’ with the current planetary alignments, you must remain sensitive to the feelings of others. Especially when you are expressing your personal opinions to complete strangers. You might feel you are on ‘safe ground’, so to speak, only to find you have said something very upsetting and offensive. Furthermore, it may be too late to retract your statement. What could lead to such a regrettable situation? Perhaps something related to your upbringing or childhood environment and experiences might have distorted your perceptions or imposed a limit on your ability to empathise with this individual. There again you might be introduced to them in some very stressful and challenging environment. But whatever it is, be kind to yourself. Remember, everyone puts their foot in it every now and again, and if you don’t believe me just read the headlines in the tabloid press!!

On Wednesday 4th the Moon is sextile the Greater Benefic while the Sun conjuncts both Venus and Mars. Additionally both Mercury and Venus square disruptive and imaginative Uranus. From this I deduce that whatever you are doing with your friends in your free time is likely to get more exciting and unpredictable. Increased activity on social media may become even more enthralling. Indeed, Mars conjunct Pluto suggests that a good deal of energy might be expended in some semi-secret activity that aspires to transform your current status quo. For example there could be a new love interest on the horizon. In fact perhaps more than one, if you like the idea of playing the field, so to speak.
Another interpretation suggests that on the home front, school children might fill you with pride at their achievements, as it seems they could be awarded a prize, acclaim or applause for something they do very well. Moreover, if you have an emotional link to a university student, you might get a message which puts your mind at rest and assures you that they are not getting up to mischief, but are working very hard at their studies with the intention of making you proud. But you’ll still worry about them ‘cos you love ‘em so much!!!!
Changing tack only slightly: five planets congregate in the eighth house of shared finances, intimate emotions, deep secrets and hidden passions. This could correlate with emotional highs and lows. However, potentially saving the day is the calming - perhaps even secretly scheming - influence of Mercury and Venus, who both manage to whisper sweet sentiments into the ear of anyone capable of exerting the calming influence necessary to disarm and dissolve any potential acrimonious arguments.
Thursday 5th: You might become aware of some ill-feeling seeping into family conversations. There seems to be a palpable lack of sympathy and understanding directed at, or, emanating from various female factions. The flames of controversy might spread like a wild-fire to engulf conflicts between professional and domestic responsibilities. Additionally, this is not a good time for businesses related to building, agriculture or domestic products. Perhaps the best way to deal with these transitory setbacks is to cultivate an optimistic outlook, because it will soon be forgotten or recollected as only a storm in a tea cup.
Sunday 15th: could be an enjoyable relaxing day for putting aside all your worries, kicking off your slippers, relaxing back in a reclining armchair and getting stuck into a book. A finishing touch might be playing some of your favourite music and - perhaps - raiding the biscuit barrel. Naughty, naughty!!
On the 17th the New Moon is perhaps indicative of your involvement in business activities in some way related to agriculture, food production and distribution. Perhaps you are starting a new job or your connection might be as a customer searching for a good bargain. Likewise, domestic services, specialised household equipment or home entertainment paraphernalia may also come into the picture in some convoluted way. Of interest is the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune on the cusp of the 10th House. This might indicate - among other things - a theft from a working environment. Whilst a simultaneous sextile aspect to Pluto might indicate subsequent investigations identify the culprit.
Changing direction again: on an emotional level, some extremely intimate problems might have to be addressed. Otherwise hurt feelings might prompt an escalating disagreement and the exchange of harsh words. However, please allow me to emphasise this is merely a possibility. It isn’t inevitable. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Best think ahead and try to nip it all in the bud, so to speak. Changing direction a little, family finances or children’s spending money might become an issue, as indeed, might taxes, life insurance or - thinking long term - selecting a funeral plan to spare your family the expense and anxiety. However, there is no need to get yourself stressed. It's just you want to do the right thing for those you love most and I respect you for it. More and more people are doing it for the highest motives.
Furthermore, the Moon square Uranus suggests - among other things - emotional instability and erratic behavior might be experienced when you come into contact with a stranger. This may also be reflected, on a much smaller scale, by unpredictable changes of mood affecting family members. Additionally, temporary separations of friends and family members could be necessitated by the dictates of work commitments or transport disruption or mechanical breakdowns.
However, favourable news from a university student may grab your attention. Perhaps it will signal a profound change of direction in the subjects they want to specialise in. There again it might simply tell you about a change of address. This is also a favourable time to communicate with individuals of cultural distinction like authors, academics or social media super-stars with huge followings. This may relate to art, music, live entertainment or the hand-crafting of luxury items. Moreover, there could possibly be a financial incentive to get in touch with someone. This might be a permanent job offer or perhaps just the opportunity to earn some money cash in hand.
Changing astrological direction: Mercury trines Jupiter in the 9th and 1st House might correlate to a growing interest in foreign cultures and their history. Perhaps you meet someone in person or online and you’d like to know more about them and their background. There again, if you enjoy driving and the freedom of the open road, and your current occupation is getting rather claustrophobic and stifling for some reason; then you might consider submitting an application form to become a bus driver or long distance wagon driver. Thursday 19th might mark a turning point as you begin to think outside the box and allow yourself to consider making small but significant changes in your daily routine. Emotionally and intellectually you begin to comprehend expanding intellectual and emotional boundaries. You are not going to allow others to dictate to you any more. You are not going to give in and give way to others. For once in your life you are going to believe in yourself and stop being ‘guilt tripted’ into believing the worst about yourself by the circle of narcissistic folks that currently surround you. In short: new day and a new you!!
Thursday 19th: In short: if you are in a good place, today will be a day of Love and Light. For those who are not so fortunate it will be a good day for reaching out to others, making helpful contacts, mending old friendships, taking actions, or giving deep thought to how you can improve your life. But for everyone it will be a day where optimism and happiness takes root and begins to flourish again. You are on the up and up and will begin to breathe easy again.
Changing tack again: travel, education, and expanding your horizons and intellectual interests preoccupy your mind. Something which you consider a boundary marker, something which holds you back, restricts you in some way (and for each of my readers it will be something different), begins to lose its power over you. Its influence will slowly begin to dissolve and fade away. Act with compassion, nurture the weak and the vulnerable, ‘go with the flow’ and - fingers crossed - you might be introduced to the love of your life. Indeed, today could be the start of something very memorable.
Friday 20th: Today the emphasis is upon work and status building. You feel emboldened and ready to take on the world. Indeed, whatever you undertake will be geared to achieve even greater domestic security. Female teammates will begin to play an even more important part in your professional/work affairs.
Sunday 22nd: The emphasis changes to your social life and how you spend your free time. Perhaps it's time to do something for yourself rather than others. Dare I respectfully suggest a little DIY or decorating? Or there again why not disappear into a local book shop and explore their bookshelves to buy yourself an armfull of cookery books and devote yourself to the task of creating a whole series of culinary masterpieces? You know you have always been a bit of a foodie!
Tuesday 24: Venus the Lesser Benefic makes a harmonious trine aspect to Jupiter the Greater Benefic. That’s really good news for you if your Natal Horoscope is ‘in sync’ with the current planetary alignments, for it suggests an increasingly happy outlook on life and that close personal relationships of every kind are about to flower and bloom. Indeed, multiple aspects of your daily life seem to improve exponentially while one event in particular - that may link you to a Gemini or Virgo born individual - really makes an impact upon you. Perhaps I am attempting to extrapolate too much information from the astrological symbolism available to me, but I wonder whether or not a rather visually imposing building with historical links to commerce, travel, education or the industrial revolution might have something to do with unfolding events?
